The Padres have lost 24-year old righty swinging 2B Logan Forsythe for the rest of the 2011 season due to knee surgery that he is going to have later today. Forsythe came into this season as the Padres’ #13 prospect according to Baseball America. Forstyhe played in 62 games for the Padres this year and he was 32 for 150 (.213 avg, .568 OPS) with 12 runs scored, 0 homers, 12 RBIs and 3 stolen bases. He also played in 46 games in AAA-ball this year and he was 58 for 178 (.326 avg, .973 OPS) with 41 runs scored, 8 homers, 34 RBIs and 8 stolen bases. The Padres hope that Forsythe will be ready to compete next spring for a job on the team in 2012.
